In June, we gave you a heads up about Antiwarpt, the Warped Tour alternative, on our sister site, 727area.com (could we have fit any more links just now?). The event, which takes place on Saturday, July 28 in Downtown St. Pete, will feature artists from all over Florida playing at several venues, a la the multi-stage Warped Tour set-up.

Maybe you've heard of a few of these 99 bands, as some already have a strong local following, but for those in the dark, we decided to give you a preview of a handful of the Tampa Bay area bands you can see there.

Tallhart

Tallhart is a Tampa band made up of members Matt Segallos (guitar and vocals), Glenn Espinoza (bass), and Chris Brickman (guitar).

Brickman says describing their music is always a tough question because people have likened them to a number of bands, such as Manchester Orchestra, U2, Pearl Jam, and most recently, The Killers. In light of these big name comparisons, Brickman modestly describes Tallhart as "a rock 'n roll band with a singer who has a great southern drawl, with spacey delayed guitars and a groovy rhythm section."

Though this is the band's first time playing Antiwarpt, this isn't their first rodeo. Tallhart is gearing up to play shows from Georgia to New York, including a brag-worthy slot alongside Dashboard Confessional in Pennsylvania.

Brickman had a blast at Antiwarpt last year, meeting and watching some of his favorite bands, as well as a few new ones. "So when we got the email asking us to play it, I immediately said yes." Now that Tallhart will play with some of their favorite bands, Brickman says "it's exciting to be part of a festival with so many talented artists."

To keep in touch with Tallhart's goings-on, check out their website, Tallhart.com, the Tallhart Facebook page, or keep up with Tallhart on Twitter.

Now that you and Tallhart are the best of friends give their songs a listen and be sure to check them out at Antiwarpt on July 28 in Downtown St. Pete.
