By: You’re at the tail end of a long and hectic week. Maybe you want to blow off some steam at a local bar with a tall drink or four, or just mindlessly melt into the couch with some take-out and a corny comedy you’ve rented.
How about this; get the best of both these worlds and check out one of the two great comedy clubs we’ve got right here in Tampa, Side Splitters and the Tampa Improv.
Side Splitters has been providing Tampa residents and visitors alike with gut-busting laughs for over 15 years. Playing host to comedians like Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White, Lisa Lampanelli, Ralphie May, Pauly Shore, Christopher Titus, and Andrew Dice Clay, Sidesplitter’s is an excellent venue to catch both renowned national comedians and the best up-and-comers in the area.
Their Open Mic Program helps amateur comedians in the area get a chance to hone their act on stage and get cheered or jeered by you, the audience.

Side Splitters also acts as a party venue for company parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, fundraisers, birthdays and more. Comedians are available on-demand for entertainment and the food and drink options are second to none.
Speaking of food and drink, you can enjoy both while watching a Side Splitters show. In fact, there’s a two-item minimum for shows inside the show room, so might as well enjoy, right? Choose from finger foods like mini corndogs, buffalo wings, loaded nachos and more. Or, enjoy a frozen margarita, a variety of house wines, and domestic and imported beers.
The Improv is another great comedy venue bringing some of the best in national and local comedy acts to their convenient location at Centro Ybor in Ybor City.
Shows run once a night Wednesday and Thursday, typically at 8 p.m., twice on Fridays and Saturdays (8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday. 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Saturday), and back to once (7 p.m.) on Sundays. National, touring comedians perform from Thursday through Sunday giving you plenty of opportunities to catch them.
All shows at the Improv are 21+ except the Friday 10:30 p.m. show which is 18+.
