Inspired by Avatar Cirque's Toruk Lands at the Arena During World Tour

Presented by Visa Signature® Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon direct this epic adventure into imagination and flight, For three decades Lemieux and Pilon directed more than thirty original productions seen all over the world by five million fans of their work. Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon promise Tampa Bay a “live immersive multimedia spectacle” with Toruk - The First Flight. Imagine a hybrid show, erasing the lines between what we know to be theater, film, dance and poetry as Toruk uses sound and spectacle to delight and amaze you! Inspired by Avatar, Cirque's Toruk will land at the Amalie Arena for a limited engagement beginning March 17th.

Inspired by Avatar James Cameron had a hand in Cirque's Toruk, The First Flight

James Cameron and his Avatar team consulted with Cirque du Soleil's directors on TORUK for Lightstorm Entertainment. In Cirque's production you see Na’vi culture you did not see in Cameron's movie. Toruk's Pandora is 'a lost Eden', reminding each of us, time is no stranger to strife and in every world you find heroes.

Toruk -The First Flight presents viewers with a stunning Cirque world, a fantasy adventure buffeted by a sensuous score, spectacular sights and Cirque's signature aerial acrobatics, costuming, makeup, mater puppetry and more.

The story centers around the Na’vi clans devotion to Nature and their connection to all living things in a prehistoric world 3000 years before James Cameron’s Avatar. In Lemieux and Pilon's Toruk, the Na’vi people have not yet encountered human beings. Clans are segregated and The Tree of Souls is in danger. Two young boys take responsibility for saving the Tree and in the end unite the Na'vi. On their mission to save the tree they meet Toruk.

Cirque's Toruk at the Amalie Arena is a Family Friendly Production

Teens will LOVE Tsyal, a powerful teen girl and Entu, a teen boy who, though small in stature makes everyone take notice as he emerges from the crowd. The creative team on Toruuk, from Director of Creation Neilson Vignola to Costume and Makeup Designer Kym Barrett, Master Puppet Designer Patrick Martel and Acrobatic Performances Director Germain Guillemot created a show loved by adults and children of all ages!
