As a movie-goer, you may or may not feel overwhelmed by all the gimmicky things movie studios throw at us these days.  From 3D to HD, new features on new movies are more prevalent than ever today.  While most of it really isn't worth the extra money (many studios convert films to 3D after the normal film's been filmed), we can assure you that a trip, maybe even your second trip to see The Dark Knight Rises will definitely be worth it if you head to the IMAX Dome Theater at MOSI in North Tampa.

Unlike most modern movies shown on IMAX screens across the country, The Dark Knight Rises was filmed on actual IMAX cameras.  This special 70mm film makes for a super-immersive movie-watching experience that literally wraps around you in MOSI's IMAX Dome Theatre.  Seriously, under this dome your entire field of vision will be faced with beautiful, moving shots of Gotham, Batman and Bane duking it out, and all the other great action throughout the film.

Christopher Nolan is one of the very few movie directors to take a leap like this.  Judging by audience and critical reception, IMAX is definitely the way to go if you really want to see The Dark Knight Rises in all it's glory.

The Dark Knight Rises is currently showing throughout the days and evenings at MOSI's IMAX Dome Theatre until September 4.  Tickets are $11.95 for adults, $8.95 for kids, and $9.95 for seniors.  To purchase tickets, head to the MOSI ticket office or visit www.mosi.org.
