It is here again...GUAVAWEEN! Taking place this Saturday, October 24th starting at 6pm at the Cuban Club in Ybor City. The festival will be filled with thousands of people in costumes, live music on the main stage, plenty of entertainment and the world famous Guavaween Costume Contest with a $1,000 Cash Grand Prize winner! This is the largest Halloween Costume Contest in Florida and you do not want to miss it!
Here is what you need to know about the Costume Contest at Guavaween!
- Registration begins at 6:00 PM at the Costume Contest Tent
- Participants will receive a number that they must wear/display on the front of their costume
- Registration closes at 9:00 PM
- NO late entries will be accepted
- You must select ONE category to enter, they are as follows:
1.) Best Couples Costume
2.) Best Group Costume
3.) Scariest Costume
4.) Sexiest Costume
5.) Most Original Costume
6.) Best Themed Costume-Apocalypse
The numbers will be organized by color so judges know what category participants have entered. Judging will be from 8:30 PM-11:30 PM at the side stage where participants will walk before the panel of judges.
Judges will be scoring upon: Creativity of the costume, presentation on stage and how well the costume fits the category entered.
All category winners will win packages full of prizes!
All category winners will be presented and go on the main stage at 12 AM where 1 Best Overall Costume winner will be selected by audience vote. The overall winner will receive the $1,000 grand prize!

Costumes are not required to attend the Guavween Festival but are strongly encouraged to participate in the atmosphere of thousands of others in costume! After all, it is a HALLOWEEN Festival!
