With all the extra time we have in the summer, most of us are looking for ways to spend that extra time by finding interesting things to do in Tampa.  Of course, you could try out a new restaurant, visit a theme park, treat the family to a day at the beach, or take on one of the other 94 things to do for the 94 days of Summer in Tampa. Instead of the normal summer activities, take some time to have fun for a great cause! Kingpins for Kids is a charity event in Tampa, presented by the Hillsborough County Sheriff. This year’s event will be held on July 30, 2011 at Pin Chasers Bowling Alley from 1pm-4pm.

Kingpins for Kids raises money for the ChairScholars Foundation. The Foundation’s main purpose is to provide academic scholarships to young adults with severe physical disabilities and financial hardships due to their disabilities. The scholarships can be used for any college or vocational training program of the students’ choice.

The event this month will allow the community to contribute to the cause in various ways. The main way to contribute to Kingpins for kids is to show up to the event and participate! Bowling games can be purchased for a small fee, or you can participate in the 50/50 raffle. All of the proceeds collected will go towards the academic scholarships provided by the ChairsScholars Foundation.

Go the extra mile this summer and include some giving into all of your fun activities. If you already planned to bowl a few games this summer, it should make the donation all the more easier.Gather everyone you know and head out to Pin Chasers to support a phenomenal cause known as Kingpins for Kids.
