Le Méridien Tampa is a restored 130 room boutique hotel in Downtown Tampa's Old Federal Courthouse, a notorious Beaux Arts style building dating back to 1905.  It's also home to Bizou Brasserie, a neighborhood gathering place to enjoy French inspired foods, unique crafted cocktails, wines by the glass, local craft beer, live music, and their world famous éclairs in a one-of-a-kind setting.  We're very lucky to have a hotel of this stature in Downtown Tampa but, did you know Le Méridien Tampa is also pet friendly and actively gives back to the community?

Le Méridien Tampa and Bizou Brasseries have teamed up with our friends at the Animal Coalition of Tampa (ACT) to host the first Pastries for Pups fundraiser on Saturday, April 25th from noon to 3pm on The Patio at Bizou Brasserie.  Guests are encouraged to bring their pooches to this pet-friendly event which will feature "pupclairs", music from Cliff Brown, outdoor lunch options, and adoptable animals from Paw Print Hearts.

ACT helps with the challenge of animal overpopulation in Tampa Bay area shelters by providing high quality, affordable spay/neuter services, vaccines, and wellness care.  Unfortunately, an arsonist burned their 10,000sf facility last April, leaving it unusable and killing its' 3 resident cats. They are raising funds to move to a new fur-ever home. Representatives from ACT will be on hand to provide educational materials to pet owners and collect donations for construction of their new clinic facility in Ybor City.

Le Méridien Tampa believes strongly in giving back and hosts quartely events to benefit the Tampa Bay community. “Because the Animal Coalition of Tampa plays such an important role in our community and needs to find a permanent home, we wanted to do our part and help this downtown partner,” Le Méridien General Manager Brent Scarbro explained. “This pet-friendly event will provide a fun opportunity for our downtown neighborhood pet owners to meet up and support the important work that ACT does to control animal overpopulation in Tampa.”

While Le Méridien is world-renowned for their human éclairs, pooches will get to enjoy "pupclairs", tasty, dog-approved treats created by Bizou Executive Chef Peter LaMontagna. The “pupclair” is a first-of-its-kind creation in any Le Méridien property worldwide.  The "pupclair" is made using a traditional, made from scratch in-house pastry shell, filled and topped with ingredients all dogs love: peanut butter, cheese, and bacon. The dog treat sized "pupclairs" will be sold from April 13-25, with $1 from each "pupclair" sold going to ACT.

Bring your pooches or leave with one and have some fun this Saturday at Le Méridien Tampa!
