If you consider yourself a barbecue aficionado or someone who simply loves this down-home style of cooking, you owe it to yourself to check out the 9th Annual Pig Jam in Plant City on Saturday, November 19.

This isn't any casual barbecue fest either.  We're talking some of the best barbecue purveyors in Florida congregating at the Randy L. Larson Softball Four-Plex (1500 S. Park Rd.) to sling their slow-cooked fare for your taste enjoyment.

Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS), this barbecue event and competition is divided into three skill levels (professional, amateur, kids) and four categories (BBQ Ribs, BBQ Pork, Beef Brisket and Chicken).

In addition to the food at the 9th Annual Pig Jam, attendees can enjoy live entertainment, brews from local taverns, a rock climbing wall, moon walk, and other cool childrens activities.

Parking is $5 per vehicle, but the actual event is free to attend.    If you're hankering for some truly great barbecue, the 9th Annual Pig Jam in Plant City is the place to be on Saturday, November 19.
