On Saturday, May 19 the Tampa Museum of Art in Downtown Tampa will hold one of their biggest annual events, Pride & Passion.

Pride & Passion is a celebration of diversity and support of the LGBT community in Tampa Bay and works as a great fundraiser for the Tampa Museum of Art.  It started in 2006 and, since then, has grown more and more each year.

Last year, Pride & Passion raised a record-breaking $70,000.  Since its start, the event has garnered more than 850 new museum members and more than $143,000 in income for the museum's educational programs.

Pride & Passion is the official kick off to St. Pete Pride, a month-long event in St. Pete and Tampa that honors the bravery of those who have fought over the years for LGBT equality.  The St. Pete Pride Parade is the culmination of the month long celebration and is one of the largest Pride events in the Southeast.

Over 800 people are expected to attend Pride & Passion for a dazzling night of food, drinks, art, entertainment, and more.  Admission to the event includes annual membership to the Museum, food by Timpano Italian Chophouse, wine, beer, specialty cocktails, and entertainment by DJ Michael Terrance and New Century Dance Company.

All of the museum's galleries and exhibitions will be open throughout Pride & Passion including their newest summer attraction, A Hundred Years – A Hundred Chairs. Masterworks from the Vitra Design Museum.

Tickets to Pride & Passion are $75 per person and include everything listed above.  To purchase tickets or get more information, visit www.tampamuseum.org/events/pride-passion.
