As the eleventh anniversary of September approaches in just over a month. important figures and organizations throughout Tampa Bay are beginning to release details on events commemorating this terrible tragedy.
One of these events will be an all-day salute to the military called Remember Our Heroes on Saturday, September 8. Remember Our Heroes will take place at the University of South Florida main campus and feature a full day's worth of fun activities, food, and concerts from country music stars Jared Ashley and Logan Mize.
Remember Our Heroes will kick off at 4 p.m. at the MLK fields located directly in front of the Marshall Student Center at USF with a variety of field day activities for kids and adults of all ages. From 4 to 6 p.m. guests can enjoy everything from a wild foam party to a mechanical bull, bungee trampoline jumping, and more.
Logan Mize is set to put on a rockin' concert at 6 p.m. Mize has opened for country superstars like Luke Bryan and sings hit songs "American Made" and "Ball and Chain" that'll definitely get your toe tapping.
Following Mize will be Jared Ashley, another country rocker who you may recognize as a finalist on Nashville Star with hit songs like "Stained" and "Last Train From Memphis."
After the show, head to the Dallas Bull in Brandon for an awesome after party where both Logan Mize and Jared Ashley will be in attendance to sign autographs and the country music will be in full effect.
All of the proceeds from Remember Our Heroes will benefit Soldiers' Angels, a "volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and their families". With two local soldiers killed by IED's overseas in the past two weeks, the importance of supporting our troops at events like these is just all the more important.
