It's a new year and time for another season of Rock the Park, Downtown Tampa's FREE monthly music series showcasing Central Florida's best new musical talent.  Presented by the Tampa Downtown Partnership, Rock the Park takes place on the last Thursday of every month at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. This month's event takes place Thursday, January 7th and features Green Sunshine, oxford roland and Natalie Claro.  The show starts at 6:30 pm, all ages are welcome and pets are encouraged.

Headlining the show is Tampa's all out party revolution, Green Sunshine. Together since 2008, MC's Reason and Rhyme and the powerful, sultry vocals of Miss Motown Tea, have taken the southeast by storm with their own spin on what it means to be a funk/hip-hop band. With a funky groove can't be quantized or quantified, you'll find yourself basking in the Green Sunshine!

Sixteen year old singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Natalie Claro will be making her first appearance at Rock the Park.  Since making her debut at the Tampa Bay Acoustic Music Festival, held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa this past June, this teen has taken Tampa by storm!  A Hard Rock Cafe Tampa (and 813area) house favorite, Natalie just finished co-producing her single, Stumble, which is set to release Saturday January 9th at the Hard Rock Cafe Tampa at 6pm. She also recently released her first music video, here's a sneak peek:

Also rocking the park on Thursday is oxford noland. Described as two cousins who were put on this planet to make some music, formerly Bootleggers and Baptists Shua Harrell and Aaron Buckingham create a unique sound by using a Micro Korg for bass as well as organ sounds.  You won't want to miss this unique, dark, and downright groovy sound.

Don't miss Rock the Park this Thursday, January 7th at 6:30pm. Remember, all ages are welcome, pets are encouraged and food and drinks will be available for purchase at this free event in Downtown Tampa's beautiful Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
