Presented by the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department and the Tampa Downtown Partnership, Screen on the Green, the summer movie series at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, is a great way to enjoy films with your family and community in this awesome Downtown Tampa locale.

The Screen on the Green Summer Movie Series started on May 25 when the sun went down and Kung Fu Panda 2 played to a handful of Tampa kids and adults relaxing on the grass.  It continued on June 8 with a showing of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and continues this upcoming Friday, June 22 when the animated classic, Shrek will be shown as the sun goes down over the park typically around 8 p.m.

Screen on the Green is a family-friendly event that's completely FREE to attend.  There will be popcorn, candy and various Tampa food trucks on site to provide refreshments.  Guests are encourage to bring blankets and low-back chairs to enjoy the films in comfort.  Do note, though, that alcohol, glass bottles/containers, and umbrellas are prohibited in the park.

Pets are welcome as long as they're well behaved, on a leash, and you clean up after any mess incurred throughout the showing.

If you can't make it to Screen on the Green this Friday, June 22, there will be three more throughout the upcoming summer months including screenings of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory on July 6, Beetlejuice on July 20, and Puss in Boots on August 3.  All of these movies are rated a family-friendly G or PG.
