2012 is going to be a big year for Tampa.  The main event we've got in store is, far and beyond, the 2012 Republican National Convention, which will bring tons, and we mean, tons of visitors to the Tampa Bay area come August.  an estimated 40,000 visitors in fact.  That's a dizzying amount of people, and money (an estimated $170 million), that'll be coming toward our great community later in the year.

Of course, the RNC isn't the only convention hitting the Tampa Bay area in 2012.  With a city and convention center as great as ours, there are a few coming our way in the upcoming year.

Moose Annual Convention - Will bring 3,000 delegates together who are dedicated to caring for young and old, brining communities closer together and celebrating life.  This convention is expected to bring 1,750 hotel room bookings and $2.2 million into the local economy.

National Association of Secondary School Principles Annual Convention - Another big convention expected to bring 4,000 delegates, 5,300 hotel room nights, and $4.6 million into the area during March of 2012.

International Association of Dental Research’s AADR/CADR Annual Meeting - Also in March and expected to bring 4,000 delegates, 1,000 hotel room nights, and $4.6 in spending to benefit the local economy.

Philadelphia Church of God Feast of Tabernacles - The Philadelphia Church of God will host this convention for three straight years in Tampa beginning in 2012.  This convention will welcome 6,600 delegates to Tampa with over 7,000 hotel room nights and $1.8 million in delegate spending.

As you can see, conventions like these work as great, little boosts to the Tampa economy.  We welcome the Republican National Convention and all these others in Tampa during 2012.
