It's back!  For the 31st year in a row, WMNF will return to present Tropical Heatwave 2012, a day-long festival of live music, entertainment, and more throughout multiple venues in historic Ybor City.

This year, Tropical Heatwave will take place on Saturday, May 12 and feature 73 different artists from Tampa and beyond performing on 13 different stages throughout Ybor.  This year's headliners at Tropical Heatwave 2012 include singer-songwriter Chuck Prophet and Mission Express, SoCal surf rockers The Growlers, and Austin, Texas Southern rockers, The Bright Light Social Hour.

In addition to these national headliners, there will be a generous handful of well-revered Tampa bands performing at Tropical Heatwave.  Some of these local acts include Rebekah Pulley, The Groves, Have Gun, Will Travel, and Tallhart (formerly The Marksmen).

These bands and dozens of others will play at a handful of indoor and outdoor stages throughout Ybor City ranging from the patio at New World Brewery to El Pesaje Plaza, Creative Loafing's CL Space stage, The Ritz, and many more.

Advance tickets to Tropical Heatwave 2012 are only $30.  Tickets at the door are $40.  Youth tickets (ages 12-20) can be purchased in advance by phone or in-person only for $12.  To purchase advance tickets, visit www.wmnf.org/heatwave/tickets or call WMNF at 813-238-8001.
