The St. Pete Times Forum is truly a Tampa epicenter of entertainment. From sports to music, theatrical performances, and even the upcoming Republican Convention in 2012, the St. Pete Times Forum is the destination for large-scale entertainment events in Tampa.
Although our beloved Lightning ended their season just a bit shorter than we all probably would've liked, there's still no shortage of great, upcoming events this summer at the Forum. Here are a few...
Katy Perry - Friday, June 10th, 7:30 p.m. - Katy Perry heads to the Forum for the first time on her California Dreams Tour. Her second album, Teenage Dreams, which the tour is named after, sold a whopping 5 million copies worldwide and the song "California Gurls" was the biggest-selling single of 2010. Keith Urban - Saturday, June 18, 7:30 p.m. - Keith Urban returns to the Forum on his Get Closer 2011 World Tour with special guest Jake Owen. Urban's shows are said to be some of the best in the business today with Urban going through all his hits like “Better Life,” “Somebody Like You,” “Days Go By,” “You’ll Think Of Me,” “Sweet Thing” and, “Without You.” As always, sold out or not, you can find tickets right here on the 813area Keith Urban ticket page.
Cirque du Soleil Alegria - Wednesday, June 22 through Sunday, June 26, various times (see below) - Meaning "joy" in Spanish, Alegria is a circus show like none you've ever seen before. Self-described as an "operatic introspection of the struggle for power and the invigorating energy of youth", Alegria features 55 acrobatic performers and musicians from 17 different countries coming together to make an amazing show. Motley Crue and Poison - Wednesday, July 6, 7:00 p.m. - Take it back to the 80's on July 6th when iconic rockers of this era Motley Crue and Poison take over the St. Pete Times Forum. Motley Crue was the face of 80's hair metal and has sold over 50 million albums worldwide since their start in 1981. Poison is another 80's icon led by frontman Brett Michaels.
