Jazz music and the Tampa Bay area have definitely been some good friends over the years.  We've got dedicated clubs like Fox Jazz and The Clearwater Jazz Holiday is a longstanding festival and testament to the love the Tampa Bay community has for jazz.  If you missed out on Clearwater Jazz Holiday earlier this month, there's a new jazz festival approaching on our side of the bay.

It's the Ybor Jazz Festival at the HCC Ybor City Campus going down next week from Tuesday, November 1 to Sunday, November 6.

Stop by on November 1 to enjoy a kick off party in the Ybor Campus Plaza with music from the HCC Ensemble and friends.  After that, the festival will feature two concerts per day during the week with each taking place at the campus mainstage and studio theaters in the performing arts building.

Wednesday, November 2 - Prelude concert with La Lucha, 6:00 p.m. Festival concert featuring Infinite Groove Orchestra (acoustic and electric), 8:00 p.m.

Thursday, November 3 - Prelude concert with HCC Jazz Faculty, 6:00 p.m.  Festival concert featuring the Nate Najar Trio

Friday, November 4 - Prelude concert with Bryan Shuler & Degari, 6:00 p.m. Festival concert featuring the Helios Jazz Orchestra with Anthony Castellano, Jr., Liz Hollister, Denise Moore, Sasha Tuck, and Belinda Womack, 8 p.m.

Saturday, November 5 - Prelude concert with Thick as Thieves, 6 p.m.  Festival concert featuring New Groove City with Guumbi Ortiz, Butch Thomas, Carlos Marchena, & Lemay Olano James, 8 p.m.

Sunday, November 6 - Final concert with The New Orleans Jazz, Funk, & Gospel Extravaganza featuring the Jim Morey Band, Quadivium with Dwayne White, The Distinguished Men of Brass, and the St Petersburg College Gospel Chorus, 3 p.m.

Daily passes for the Ybor Jazz Festival are $15, $5 for students, and free for both HCC students and staff.  They'll be available for cash only at the door.  For more information you can call the box office at (813) 259-6490.
