January 23 ,24 25, 2015: The Sarasota Native American Indian Festival takes place at the Sarasota Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd, on Friday 9-5, Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 10-5.
Come join us and experience the traditions and culture of the of the Native American people at the Sarasota Native American Indian Festival. Find 100% authentic, handmade, one-of-a-kind fine arts and crafts, paintings, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, bead work and leather work, along with fantastic Native American food.
Little Big Mountain and the Big Mountain dancers will be sharing traditional Native American drumming, fluting, singing and various styles of dance throughout the weekend.
Little Big Mountain is a fourth generation dancer, singer and educator on Native culture. The Big Mountain family’s performances started back in the mid 1800’s with Little’s great grandfather performing with the famous “101 Ranch Buffalo Bill Show.”
We are excited to have Nashville recording artist Traci Snowe returning again this year to share her music with us throughout the weekend.
This festival will continue to be a tribute to the extraordinary life of artist Rex A. Begaye, its founder. His remarkable gifts as an artist and educator of Native American culture were the inspiration for this event focused on bringing authentic Native American culture to Sarasota.
