According to multiple news sources and some excellent research by theme park news and rumor site behindthethrills.com, Tampa's Busch Gardens will "drop" some big news likely announcing a new ride at the theme park on Tuesday, June 11.

Behindthethrill's creator Erik Yates is a longtime fan of Busch Gardens, regularly updating the site he runs with his wife on breaking news, announcements and more regarding Busch Gardens Tampa.

The Tampa Bay Times met with Yates earlier this week, and found that he'd dug up plans Busch Gardens Tampa filed with the Southwest Florida Water Management District over a year ago requesting a clearing a site for a drop tower ride, a fitting fact that falls right in line with Busch Garden's announcement that they'd be "dropping" big news on June 11.

In addition, both Busch Gardens Tampa and its sister park Busch Gardens Williamsburg have a history of opening related projects in conjunction with each other.  Busch Gardens Williamsburg opened the Mach Tower ride back in 2011 which drops riders 240 feet at a top speed of 60 mph.  According to behindthethrills.com, rumors state that the park [Busch Gardens Tampa] bought Pittsburgh's Kennywood theme park's Pit Fall drop ride back in 2011 with the intent of repurposing the ride in the Timbuktu area of the Tampa theme park.

We'll keep you updated as more news arises regarding Busch Gardens Tampa's big announcement on June 11.
