There’s no question that the Obamas will be ramping up their Florida appearances throughout the rest of the year in preparation for the 2012 Presidential Election. With this election approaching in November and the Republican National Convention here in August, you can bet President Obama will be doing all he can to convince Tampa and Florida residents alike to re-elect him in 2012.
Come this Friday, April 13, President Obama will be making an appearance at the Port of Tampa to promote small business trade with Latin American countries. This will be a stop on the president’s journey to the Summit of the Americas in Columbia.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the president will discuss various programs that offer loan guarantees and training to small businesses looking to trade with Latin American countries. The president will also take a tour of the port. 40 percent of The Port of Tampa’s exports currently go to Central and South American countries.
President Obama also made in appearance in South Florida yesterday to promote the “Buffet Rule”, a proposed tax plan that ensures high-earners pay at least 30 percent in income taxes.
