With the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa just weeks away, organizers are beginning to reveal significant details regarding the notable figures who will speak throughout the convention’s four-day run at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.
So far, speakers at the convention will include Senator John McCain, Florida Governor Rick Scott, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, the yet-to-be-named Republican vice presidential candidate, and soon-to-be Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
In addition, other featured Republican throughout the convention will include South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, Ohio Governor John Kasich and New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez.
The convention has not released any time designations for its featured speakers yet who will all likely proceed Mitt Romney as he accepts the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
Romney has yet to decide on a vice presidential candidate, but a decision is expected to come soon, maybe as soon as this week according to the Tampa Bay Times.
Whomever he chooses will get a prime time speaking spot at the convention. Rumored VP contenders include Florida Senator Marco Rubio, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, and Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan.
Romney is scheduled to come to Florida next Monday, August 13 as part of a multi-state bus tour in preparation for the election. So far, expected stops on the tour include Miami, Jacksonville, and Orlando. No mention of Tampa, though.
