It's a good day to be a craft beer lover in St. Petersburg.  World of Beer has opened the doors of its newest location at 100 4th St. S. in Downtown St. Petersburg.

Formerly the location of Irish bar and restaurant, Paddy Burkes, this 4th Street location resides right in the heart of Downtown St. Pete just a stone's throw from the long strip of restaurants and nightlife on Central Avenue.

World of Beer, as its name implies, is a prime destination for over 500 different beers from around the world.  If you're looking to try something new when it comes to beer, well, you'd have quite the task running out of options here.

This Downtown St. Pete location boasts over 40 taps as well as multiple refrigerators boasting hundreds of different bottled beer selections.  According to their website, World of Beer Downtown St. Petersburg has a number of top notch craft beers on tap including Tampa's own Cigar City Jai Alai IPA and Maduro Oatmeal Brown Ale, Abita Purple Haze, Guinness, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, and about 35 others.

World of Beer will kick things off tonight beginning at 5 p.m. for a preview party filled with great beer, live music, and more.  After that, they'll be open Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. until 3 a.m. and weekends from noon until 3 a.m.

Come early 2012, World of Beer will soon share this location with Tampa-based Wood Fired Pizza who have leased the other side of the former Paddy Burkes building.  Both establishments will share the adjoining outdoor deck and surely work in conjunction to provide a great dining and drinking experience for everyone in St. Pete.
