Following delays as a result of the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, construction has begun on a new $68 million structure of apartments in Hyde Park.

Named Circle Bayshore, the eight-story building will house 367 units once construction is finished at 319 Bayshore Blvd., just south of the Platt Street Bridge in Tampa.

Crescent Resources is the developer behind Circle Bayshore and a handful of other real estate projects in the Southeast. Moss & Associates of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is the general contractor while King Engineering of Tampa civil engineer, and the landscape architect is Land Resource Design Group, Inc. of Orlando.

Designed by MSA Architects of Miami, this Spanish-style apartment building will feature one, two, and three-bedroom apartments as well as single studios; all with private balconies, full-size washer and dryers, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and more.  Community features are rumored to include a two-story health club and resort-style swimming pool within the complex.

According to officials, the first apartments at Circle Bayshore are scheduled to be finished within the first quarter of 2014.

The prospect of a high rise building for apartments in Hyde Park hasn't pleased everyone, though.  Leaders of the Historic Hyde Park Neighborhood Association claim the building is too big for the surrounding neighborhood.  A similar structure, Parkside of One Bayshore Towers, rises to 18 stories at a location just over 400 feet away from the Circle Bayshore site.
