Ballast Point Park is a beautiful haven for soaking up the sun and enjoying a natural setting in South Tampa.  Their fishing pier is a prime destination for Tampa anglers looking to catch the big one.  Don’t have equipment?  No worries.  The Ballast Point Park fishing pier boasts equipment rentals as well as a full-service bait shop.

Davis Islands doesn’t necessarily boast a fishing pier, but is still an attractive hub for fishing in Tampa.  The Davis Islands Bridge that leads into the island is a great spot for fishing.  Situated right on the mouth of the Hillsborough River, this spot plays host to a wide variety of fish species rife for the catching.

If you want to venture across the Tampa Bay, there are a handful of awesome fishing spots in St. Petersburg and Clearwater.  Not only will you find some of the best deep sea fishing charters but some of the best fishing piers in the Tampa Bay area.

The Merry Pier is a prime fishing destination close to St. Pete Beach in Pass-A-Grille, Florida. The pier offers free fishing but a fishing license is required. Charter Fishing is also available from this pier.
