According to Lowry Park Zoo, “Moms Matter”, but that’s not news to you...of course moms matter! To give back to the ones who gave us life, Lowry Park Zoo is opening its doors free of charge to all moms whose beloved offspring purchase a full-priced ticket on either May 9th (the day before Mother’s Day) or May 10th (Mother’s Day).
That’s right...any loving son or daughter who purchases an adult admission ticket, gets to bring mom along to the zoo for free! This also applies for the purchase of a child admission ticket.
Tickets must be purchased either on the 9th or 10th of May, but offer access to all the zoo has to offer and - just in case you haven’t been to the zoo in awhile- let us give you three convincing reasons you should visit this Mother’s Day weekend.
The Nature Exhibits: Lowry Park Zoo has over 1,000 animals! The most popular exhibits are the Native Florida Wildlife Center and manatee hospital, Asian Gardens, Primate World, Free-Flight Aviaries, Wallaroo Station children's zoo, and Safari Africa
The Rides: Did you know Lowry Park Zoo has rides? The Tasmanian Tiger Family Coaster, Gator Falls Flume, and Boomer’s Flyin’ Bananas are all popular rides included in the price of your ticket. Popular children’s rides include Lil’ Joey’s Caravan (for those under 48” only - sorry for those who are “children at heart” but too tall) and also, the Overland Express, a classic locomotive train ride named after "The Overland," one of Australia's great trains.
Hands-On Exhibits: Giraffe petting; a “Goat Yard” where you can pet goats; Stingray Bay where you can pet stingrays; Lorikeet Landing where Lorikeets land on you and you feed them; this zoo has it all!
