Spring time is a beautiful thing; flowers blossoming, birds chirping, and juicy strawberries ripening. It is the perfect time to try new things while enjoying the warm sun with friends and family. So why not plan a mini trip to experience strawberry picking? Everyone loves strawberries! They’re sweet, delicious, and healthy for you too. Growing your own strawberries is time consuming, and buying them at the grocery store is boring. Strawberry picking is an enjoyable experience for everyone. Just imagine running through the fields, seeing who can find the most strawberries, and getting to eat the strawberries. That’s right, you’re hard work won’t be worthless; you get to keep the strawberries. Farms that offer strawberry picking in the 813 area are listed below.

Berry Bay Farms (5135 Bonita Drive, Wimauma, FL, 33598) – Strawberry picking at Berry Bay Farms is offered from the beginning of March and ends in April. No appointment is necessary; just show up in comfortable clothing that you are willing to get dirty. For hours please call their office at (813) 642-9866.

Favorite Farms (10070 McIntosh Road, Dover, FL, 33527) – Favorite Farms is open for strawberry picking from March to mid-April. Strawberry lovers can enjoy the fun any day of the week from 7am-6pm.

Hydro Harvest LLC (1101 Shell Point Rd E, Ruskin, FL, 33570) – At Hydro Harvest the strawberries are grown hydroponically. No pesticides, simply just fresh strawberries.  Monday through Saturday the farm is open from 10 am until 5 pm. On Sundays they are open from 11 am until 4 pm.

The Orange Grove (15433 County Road 39 South, Lithia, FL, 33547) – The Orange Grove is another pesticide-free farm where you can enjoy strawberries at their fullest potential. Treat your weekend to strawberry picking fun anytime between 10am to dusk.

Strawberry Passion Organic Farm (9410 Rockhill Road, Thonotosassa, FL, 33592) – Strawberries are available for picking in April on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am until 5pm. If these times do not work for you, you can call (813) 205-1226 and pick your own time.

Spivey Farms (6101 South County Road 39, Plant City, FL, 33567) – Strawberries will be available for picking between late March to early April, but is subject to change. For hours please call (813) 650-8999.
