Bailey's Catering and Restaurant on Davis Islands might be the best kept secret in the pantheon of Tampa culinary treasures.

Started by Robert Kim Bailey, a nationally renowned chef and author of The North Beach Diet, a parody of the South Beach Diet emphasizing the deliciousness of food regardless of calorie counts, Bailey's is a premier Tampa destination for catering and delicious, inspired dining.

Inspired because Kim Bailey just might be one of the most food-passionate chefs in the Tampa Bay area.  This guy's earned his culinary stripes studying cuisine in multiple locales including Italy and France.

His passion for food from anywhere and everywhere has made it nearly impossible for Bailey to stick to one set menu for eternity.  In fact, the darn thing changes every week!  Join the Bailey's weekly menu email list and you'll be in the loop when it comes to the new, inventive, and delicious entrees they'll be cooking up each week.

Because Bailey's is also heavily focused on the catering aspect of their company, the actual Davis Islands restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. till 2 p.m. for lunch and Wednesday through Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for dinner.

Lunch menu highlights at Bailey's include a drool-inducing pulled pork, caramelized onion & white cheddar quesadilla served with avocado cream and fresh mango salsa; Bailey's Incredible Grilled Burger with your choice of cheese, crispy applewood smoked bacon, red onion, lettuce, tomato, and homemade pickles; and a Reuben sandwich with fresh cooked corned beef, home made red cabbage sauerkraut, and 1000 Island dressing.

Things get kicked up a notch when dinner rolls around.  For example, last week Bailey's featured entrees including, but not limited to prime rib with creamed horseradish sauce, southern-fried pork chops with home made applesauce, and their famous shrimp and grits.

What are you waiting for, Tampa?  Call, make a reservation, and chow down on some of the most lovingly-made cuisine in Tampa today!
