Yeah, Starbucks is good, but let's be serious, you can start to feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day going in and out of these places, day in and day out, ordering the same thing from the same barista each visit.  Maybe it's time to break the cycle with a new, unique, independent coffee shop in Tampa, eh?

If you're up for it, Sacred Grounds in North Tampa is a great choice for coffee, smoothies, food, and much much more.

Open since 1996, Sacred Ground is a haven for Tampa-area students and professionals alike looking for a great place to relax, converse, or study over a delicious cup of joe.  Free WiFi is also available so surfin the net for your work is no problem.

On Monday nights they hold an open mic night that highlights some awesome, underground musical talent from the Tampa area and beyond.  Friday and Saturday nights are dedicated to notable live music acts from around the area including Geri X, Steve Vitale, Sucio, and many more.

Of course, what's a coffee shop without the coffee?  Sacred Grounds provides with a wide variety of coffee drinks and more including the hilariously-titled Thor's Hammer - the coffee of the day with a shot of espresso - cafe con leche, cappuccinos, lattes, and more.  Or, opt for one of their Sacred Shakes like the strawberry truffle with strawberries and buttery chocolate, the banana bread, or the pumpkin pie.

Their food selection includes an eclectic selection of fresh and organic items including, but not limited to, vegan artichoke dip, margarita pizza, and pita bread with hummus.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, head out to Sacred Grounds in North Tampa and soak up the unique, eclectic atmosphere only a coffee shop like this can provide.
