Week two of 2011 NFL football has come and gone. I will start with my picks for the games, which I have to admit I did pretty well on.

Raiders and Bills – Bills

Although this game was a definite nail biter, the Bills prevailed in the end. I think the Raiders may have a pretty decent year providing they keep it together. Even with the loss, they looked much better than they have in years past.

Packers and Panthers – Packers

Was there any doubt the Packers were going to win?  Apparently so; although Newton had a great first week, the Panthers were no match for the Packers. It seems that Aaron Rodgers is a love/hate kinda guy; some love him, some say he’s overrated. I say he’s pretty great and has a great squad behind him.

Chiefs and Lions – Lions

I said that Lions were going to win and I said it was going to be a blow out…damn did they take that term to a new level. The Lions definitely look fantastic this year and I think were very much unexpected to do as well as they are.

Browns and Colts – Browns

Once again, Manning is out; thus it’s a no-brainer. The Colts did look better yesterday than they did the week before. Why don’t coaches realize you can’t build a team around a quarterback? Things happen…people get hurt. Manning makes the Colts who they are; he is the winning piece to that team. He needs to be smart right now and just retire. Neck surgeries aren’t something to mess around with.  Go out on top like all the greats should.

Bears and Saints – Saints

Yes the Bears are a good team, but not better than the Saints. Brees is a force to be reckoned with. Major kudos to Urlacher for actually getting out there and playing after the loss of his mother.

Jaguars and Jets – Jets

Another no-brainer. We all knew the Jets were going to win. Even though I am still not a Jets fan…Sanchez has a hell of an arm.

Bucs and Vikings – Vikings

Yes, I bet against the home team. McNabb is still one of my favorite quarterbacks of all time and looked much better than week one. The Bucs truly deserved that win though, coming back from a 17-point deficit in the second half. The Vikings crumbled to pieces. Games like this are what make football such a great sport.

Seahawks and Steelers – Steelers

Lord knows the Steelers were pissed and really had to thump their chests after their embarrassing week one loss to the Ravens. Seahawks caught a few too many lucky breaks last season and may have forgotten whom they were playing…or that they actually needed to show up to play yesterday. Embarrassing.

Ravens and Titans – Ravens

Yes, the entire world and I really thought that the Ravens were on a roll and were going to do wonderful yesterday…. boy were we mistaken. This may have been one of the biggest upsets of week two and I pity all of you who probably lost a good amount of money yesterday. Ravens are in desperate need of an Adrien Lewis pep talk!

Cardinals and Redskins – Redskins

Whoa, what a close game! Cards definitely look pretty decent this year. They just need a bit of sprucing up and they may have a good season.

Cowboys and 49ers – Cowboys

I’m far from being a Tony Romo fan. I believe the Cowboys would be much better off without him. He was able to bring them back to win, and yes, everyone thinks he’s so wonderful for playing with broken ribs.  Football is a man’s sport.  If you are a wussy, you need a new occupation.

Bengals and Broncos – Broncos

Another close game that really could have gone either way. I was right on with my choice of the Broncos though. Neither team really impressed me, though. The Bengals are much better off without Palmer.  He’s a joke and complete waste of space.

Texans and Dolphins – Texans

Being a natural-born Texan, I kind of have to root for the Texans, and have for the past few years. Injuries seem to curse them which kills them in the mid to late season. Now, the Dolphins on the other hand….why is this team even still around? They haven’t been a truly good team since when? And has anyone else noticed what a complete dump their stadium is, and their poor crowd attendance? They should just dissolve this team, complete waste of space.

Chargers and Patriots – Patriots

DUH! As if there was another option for this game. The Patriots are, without a doubt, the most conditioned and well-oiled team out there. Complete synchronization and the team to fear. The Chargers did look pretty good considering whom they were playing, but that’s about it. Patriots have to easily be the most profitable team in the league.

Eagles and Falcons – Eagles

OUCH! The feathers were flying like a chicken farm explosion last night; two very angry and fierce teams. It was a complete yo-yo of possessions and just an insane game. I thought I was in the twilight zone for a good part of the game. Robinson needs to be charged with a hefty fine for that dirty hit to Machlin. Dirty football really messes things up for everyone. The hit to Vick causing him to leave the game was also pretty ugly. He’s very lucky he didn’t get knocked out or really hurt. It was a very upsetting loss for the Eagles last night. The backup to Vick did pretty damn good though. He looked better than some “pros” yesterday. Lets hope Vick can return next week.

Rams and Giants – Giants

Who cares? I didn’t even have any interest in watching this game….
