The Henry B. Plant Museum and the Tampa Bay Hotel are national historic landmarks in Tampa. A visit to the Henry B. Plant Museum and the authentically restored rooms of the Tampa Bay Hotel will transport you back to a time of indulgent ten-course meals, waltzing on the veranda, and alligator hunting by moonlight. Plant’s Tampa Bay Hotel attracted a host of celebrated guests, from Teddy Roosevelt to Sarah Bernhardt to Babe Ruth.
“I am excited to be able to share Dracula with the Plant Museum,” states Lindsay Clark, Artistic Director of Tampa Ballet Theatre, “the story touches so many different themes that are entirely based off the Victorian culture and social values. I love the fact that I can bring Dracula back to life in the beautifully preserved Plant Museum.”
Dracula excerpt performed by Tampa Ballet Theatre is based off the 1897 gothic horror book by Bram Stoker. The music chosen to accompany the ballet is various works by composer Wojciech Kilar. The story of Dracula follows Johnathan Harker, Mina Murray, and Lucy Westerna in their horrifying encounters with wolves, vampires, and the count himself. Dracula is a disturbing and sensual story about love, death, and the undead.
The full Dracula performance will be at Hillsborough Community College Mainstage Theatre in Ybor. The performances will be on Saturday, October 18th at 8:00pm and Sunday October 19th at 6:00pm. Adult tickets are $25 per ticket, Senior tickets (55+) are $20 per ticket, and Children and Co
