Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Classic to benefit Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo

The Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Classic is Tampa's premier charitable dragon boat event. A fun-filled day of community and competitive dragon boat racing will take place on the Garrison Channel and the adjacent Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park in Downtown Tampa. With a race every 10 minutes, food vendors, live entertainment and a tribute to breast cancer victims and survivors, this festive event will be a hit with the whole family.

Racing begins at 9:00 am and will continue throughout the day until 4 pm. Food and retail vendors will be open throughout the event offering a variety of lunch items, sports gear and crafts. In the afternoon, live music will course through the air leading up to a fun awards presentation at 4:30 pm.

In addition to the main event, the Tampa Bay Dragon Boat Classic will also feature the finalé to the Gulf Coast Mini Dragon Boat Series. Teams of 10 will race on our "mini" dragon boats as the third and final event in this unique series of racing.

Registration is now open for team entries and individual paddlers for this 400 meter race on the Garrison Channel (on the south side of Amalie Arena). Rates are available for corporate teams, community and nonprofit groups, out-of-market teams and breast cancer survivor teams. Register online at www.tampabaydragonboatclassic.com by October 2.
