Comments:
Ocean Blue Carrollwood is my choice drinking and late-night sushi restaurant. Open until 3 a.m. on the weekend and a little earlier on weekdays, Ocean Blue Sushi has 1/2 off all drinks, appetizers, and sushi after 10 p.m. every day of the week. Where can you go in Tampa that offers that? Nowhere. No matter what drink I want I can get it at an affordable price - even if the drink is originally very expensive, the price comes down with this special and I love it. The bartenders are awesome and very personable. Yes - it is loud - don't go there if you plan on having a serious conversation. The crowd is mixed with college students and early 20s - the music is probably too loud for older folks - but you still see them there sprinkled in the crowd. The late-night sushi is pretty much what you would expect - it's good, but don't come with too many expectations as it's only $2/$3 for the average roll. The appetizers are pretty good - my favorite is the rangoons. Dessert is tasty. Overall, I love Ocean Blue Carrollwood - it's my place of choice to kick back, have a drink and enjoy some late-night sushi and music.
Pros:
Great late-night special, cool bartenders, fun place to hang
Cons:
Servers are sometimes spotty since they get slammed
