I went to Gaspar's Grotto with a friend for girls night out. Love the $2 beer and shot special. Like that they have seating outside for people who smoke and smoking is allowed inside after 9pm. They had a DJ playing music out on patio and live music inside with Earl Brown. Like the atmosphere of the bar. Like that they have pet friendly saturdays to bring your dog once a month and beach outings that start and end at Gaspar's Grotto. A all around friendly fun place to go. A must see in Ybor.
Pros:
Drink Specials and Live entertainment inside and out. Lots of monthly events to particapate in like beach parties, bring your dog saturdays once a month and lunch cruises.
Cons:
For people who smoke you have to smoke outside but after 9 pm you can inside. Parking is limited to 2 hours near place or you can use the parking garage or take bus or cab.

Gaspar's is one of my favorite bars in Ybor City. Live music, outdoor patio bars, good food, friendly staff and pirate themed. It's a fun bar that always has events going on whether its pet related, art, charity, live music or even beach themed, they throw a good part.
Pros:
The people, the staff, outdoor patio bars and live music.
Cons:
Parking, just like any place in Ybor City can be a pain at certain times of the day.

Gaspar's might not be the most inventive, elegant, or contemporary bar and restaurant in Ybor City, but it's one the most dependable. Head in to Gaspar's and you know exactly what you're gonna get; a laid back time on their HUGE outdoor patio, maybe some cool, local live music, a huge variety of tasty food, and an equally large drink selection to wash it down.
Pros:
$2(or $3) shot and a PBR can't be beat. Good specials throughout the week. Blues Jam on Wednesday night is always awesome.
Cons:
Like anywhere in Ybor, parking can be a pain. Bring a couple bucks to pay.

Gaspar's Grotto has everything you want and need in a bar/restaurant. I tried the stomboli which was great and one of the best things is they are DOG FRIENDLY!! Not only are they dog friendly, but they cater to your dog and even have food for dogs on the menue. They do "Paws on the Patio" I believe on the first Saturday of each month. Lots of entertainment and the pirate decor fits with the Ybor theme.
Pros:
Food is great, drink specials can't be beat with their $2 for a shot and beer, lots to do including live entertainment, beer pong, pool, and much more.
Cons:
Took a little while to get the food but they were busy and I think short handed but well worth the wait.

Fish and Chips, Wow, a huge piece of fish deep fried with like a thin crispy tempura type batter, I loved it, and the calimari was pretty good too.
Pros:
Great waiter, Bill or Phill not sure but this guy was attentive, said all the right things. This waiter should train all other waiters on earth. Seriously, he was a good waiter.
