The team at Synapse Florida are bringing back the Synapse Summit in a big way. For its sophomore year, the Synapse Summit 2019 will be at Amalie Arena again, but this time earlier in the year on January 23rd and 24th.

While the dates of the Summit were determined by the availability of the Amalie Arena mid-hockey season, the timing has presented some exciting opportunities.

Synapse Innovation Week has emerged out of the incredible energy and excitement built around the Summit.  Throughout the week of January 21st, innovation-focused events are taking place all throughout downtown Tampa and even into the surrounding areas. Partner events include the Women Ambassadors Forum, a conference for women from around the world, and will culminate January 26th for Gasparilla. Many other events will take place at the Glazer Children’s Museum, the Florida Aquarium, Sofwerx and the Tampa Bay Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics Center (AMRoC) Fab Lab based in University Mall. Synapse expects to grow the Summit's attendance from the roughly 3,250 attendees at last year's summit to over 5,000. Organizers have planned over 250 different speakers, over 70 breakout session and also expect 300 exhibitions from companies across Florida. MyArea Network is a Silver sponsor for the event, will be in attendance at this awesome summit.

Synapse seeks to expose, build and facilitate the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Florida. Last year's summit did just that and proved to be pivotal for MyArea Network. Being at the summit, Founder/CEO Scott Conlon was able to pitch at the demo hosted by Tampa Bay WaVE. One of the attendees that heard that pitch, Rachel West, decided to invest and later signed up to be an advsior and Chief Strategy Officer at MyArea Network. With an extensive career in financial services, technology and international consulting, West brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and support to MyArea Network. It will be exciting to see what this year's Synapse Summit will bring for MyArea Network and the other 300 Florida start-ups and companies that will be present for the two-day summit in Channelside.

The overall theme for the 2019 summit is "Innovation Lives Here" and that theme will take on multiple meanings. Synapse co-founder Brian Kornfeld said "It can mean that investors live here. It can mean that opportunity lives here. It can mean that industries like blockchain and defense tech, financial tech live here. And 'here' can be variable based on who you are. It could mean innovation lives at USF, or UT, or Florida Poly, Tampa Bay Innovation Center or Tampa Bay Wave, or within any particular entrepreneur."

Some of the technologies that will be featured at the Synapse Summit will include IoT, blockchain, cryptocurrency, renewables, AI and robots, AR and VR, wearables, 3D printing, as well as technological advancements from the fields of finance, health, and defense.
