Event Details
NOPE of Hillsborough will host its 6th Annual Candle Light Vigil on October 27, 2016 starting at 7 pm. (We invite you to arrive as early as 6 pm to view and reflect on our Memorial Wall which honors those lost.)
This powerful one hour community event will be held at Hillsborough High School, located at 5000 N Central Ave, Tampa, FL 33603. Admission and parking are free.
The vigil is held in memory of those who have lost their lives due to drug and alcohol related incidents, to honor those who have lost a loved one to accidental overdose death, and to help those suffering from the disease of addiction.
The emcee for this special evening will be Candace McCowan, WFLA Anchor/Reporter. Our speakers will share words of hope and encouragement about fighting the epidemic of accidental overdose deaths that has taken hold of our nation, state, and community.
My story isn’t over… (our theme) Songs and stories will be shared before we move outside to the school’s front lawn to light candles in honor of those lives lost to substance abuse. If you would like to add your loved one’s story and photo to this year’s Memorial Wall please bring it to the Vigil at 6 pm.
This event is free. All are welcome. Plenty of free parking is available at Hillsborough High School. Contact Beth Butler at 813-855-5393 or NOPEHillsborough@gmail for further information.
