Now in its second year, the Gasparilla Music Festival is taking some serious strides to become one of the Tampa Bay area's best music festivals.

With an ideal setting at Downtown Tampa's Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and a big enough budget to bring in indie heavy hitters like Deer Tick, Ra Ra Riot, and Rebirth Brass Band during its inaugural run last year, we've been expecting big things from the upcoming 2013 Gasparilla Music Festival set to take place on Saturday, March 9.

And now, it looks like they're going to deliver.  Slated to headline this year's festival is Calfornia rock duo, Best Coast who garnered critical and commercial acclaim with their sunny 2010 debut, Crazy for You and also won a spot on the TBT Soundcheck's "best concerts of 2012" list for their 2012 tour stop in Orlando.

Alongside Best Coast, the 2013 Gasparilla Music Festival will play host to a diverse musical lineup including Black Joe Lewis & The HoneyBears; The Meter Men featuring Zigaboo Modeliste, Leo Nocentelli and George Porter Jr. with special guest Page McConnel; Dawes; Lord Huron; Ozmatli; The Iguanas; Applebutter Express; Ozokids; The Hip Abduction; Nervous Turkey; and more acts to be announced.

Of course, there will be tons of food, beer, and other beverages on hand to purchase as well as a handful of interactive activities, and more.

General admission tickets to the 2013 Gasparilla Music Festival are $25 in advance.  VIP tickets are $75 and include access to huge tents adjacent to the stages, private VIP bars, lounges, bathrooms, and more.
