Lowry Park Zoo, a favorite amongst Tampa Bay residents and tourists alike, is going to be a bit more wallet-friendly once Saturday, September 10 rolls around.

Presented by Wal-Mart, $5 Day at Lowry Park Zoo is a great way to get some huge savings while having fun and observing the over 1,600 animals this wildlife kingdom has on display.  With normal tickets hovering around the $20 mark, this is a great way to save some cash while taking in all the zoo has to offer.

$5 Day kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with overflow parking available at the Tampa Greyhound Track (8300 N. Nebraska Ave.).  To get there from I-275, take Exit 49 to Bird Street and go one block East.  Free shuttles will run continuously from the lot to the zoo beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.

Once you're in, enjoy the wide variety of animals and habitat areas Lowry Park Zoo has to offer.   Head to the Safari Africa and Ituri Forest to see wildlife including giraffes, elephants and zebras up close and personal or check out the free flight aviaries and enter a sub-tropic environment rife with birds including toucans, purple swamp hens, blue bellied rollers and more.

Of course this is just a fraction of all you can see during $5 Day at the Zoo.  Head out there on September 10 to see it all for yourself and save a ton of money on the great wildlife experience at Lowry Park Zoo.
