Bay area Middle and high school students will have the chance to get their artwork featured at the 2012 Republican National Convention when it comes to the Tampa Bay Times Forum from August 27 through 30.

It's called the "Elephants on Parade" art competition.  To enter, participants must submit a project that answers the question: what does being an American mean to me?

All qualifying works will be on display at the Tampa Bay Times Forum during the convention's run there in late August.  The top five finalists will get a private tour of both the Tampa Bay Times Forum and the Tampa Convention Center where thousands of media outlets from across the world will gather to cover this huge event.

The first place winner will win a pair of tickets to the Republican Presidential nominee's acceptance speech.  Their submitted artwork will also be on display in the nominee's private suite at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Each entry must be two-dimensional, framed, and original in concept, design, and execution.  Entry packets will soon be mailed to over 250 middle and high schools throughout the Tampa Bay area.
