Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has some new excitement and new attractions for families looking to get in a day of fun with their younger kids before the summer tourist rush. The North Tampa theme park has brought back Sesame Street Safari of Fun Kids' Weekends. Special themed weekends will be held on May 12-13 and May 19-20, and a new stage show featuring many Sesame Street fan favorites is now performing every weekend.

On May 12 and 13, Busch Gardens invites guests to Rubber Duckie Weekend. Help Bert and Ernie on their search for Ernie's rubber duckie while you enjoy all the attractions in the Sesame Street Safari of Fun section of the park. The next weekend (May 19-20) is Cookie Monster Weekend. Patrons are invited to look for cookies among the flowers with Cookie Monster and his friends while enjoying milk and cookies (of course) and making arts and crafts.

Both weekends have celebrations created especially for kids on the festival field from 11:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m. In addition to the themed events, there will be up-close animal encounters, a flower maze, scavenger hunts, an interactive paint-by-number mural, character parades, and dance parties.

On top of the special activities during May, the Sunny Day Theater in the Sesame Street Safari of Fun presents a new live show called Let's Play Together. Join Elmo, Cookie Monster, Rosita, Abby Cadabby, and other Sesame Street favorites as they learn about friendship and embrace each other's differences with song and dance. The show is performed at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday throughout the year.

Another attraction running past the month of May is Lunch with Elmo & Friends. Families can enjoy a buffet lunch, plus photo opportunities and hugs from their Sesame Street friends. This is a limited-time character experience, and spaces are limited. Busch Gardens recommends making reservations in advance on their website. You can add Lunch with Elmo & Friends to your Busch Gardens admission for only $14.99 per person, with kids under 3 admitted free.

Want to bring the kids back to for more fun later in the year? With the Busch Gardens Preschool Card, Florida residents can register children age 5 and under to visit Busch Gardens FREE for the rest of 2018! There will be another set of Sesame Street Kids' Weekends in the fall, giving families more opportunities to hang out with their favorite characters in the Sesame Street Safari of Fun at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
