It's going to be a big weekend for the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) in Tampa as they host two free and family-friendly events this weekend - a celebration of Coral Reef Awareness Week on Saturday and National Ice Cream Day on Sunday.

MOSI will start this eventful weekend with a Coral Reef Awareness Week Kickoff event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.  Adults, kids and families are encouraged to come out to this event, held in conjunction with MOSI's Sea Monsters Revealed exhibit, to learn about the importance of coral reefs with a variety of hands-on activities and more.

The Coral Reef Awareness Week Kickoff is included with the regular price of admission to MOSI and free for MOSI members.

Or, head out to beat the heat and celebrate National Ice Cream Day at MOSI on Sunday, July 21.

From 12 to 2 p.m., Blue Bell will be handing out free ice cream - including their newest flavor Rockslide Brownie - in MOSI's Grand Lobby.  Head out to enjoy this new dark chocolate ice cream with pieces of chocolate brownies, miniature marshmallows, chopped almonds, pecans and walnuts, all surrounded by a rich caramel swirl.  Homemade vanilla will also be available.

MOSI’s InterActors will also be on hand as they demonstrate the Science of Freezing, with a cryo-freezing demonstration using liquid nitrogen. National Ice Cream Day is included with MOSI admission and FREE for MOSI members.
