Here's just another in the list of going-ons perfectly suited for Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg area beer lovers; The 4th Annual Craft Beer Expo at St. Petersburg's beloved Coliseum.

On Saturday, July 23rd, a diverse array of brewing companies from around the Southeast will gather at the Coliseum in Downtown St. Petersburg to show off their beloved brews and let you, the beer lover, sample on all their creations.  Notable breweries include Tampa's own Cigar City Brewing and Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Terrapin Brewing, Shipyard Brewery, and many, many more.

This year's expo will also feature a collection of cask-brewed ales as well.  Cask brewing is the way some of the first beer brewers would create their sudsy libations.  It's just how it sounds, really - unfiltered, unpasteurized beer stored and served straight from a wooden cask with no extra nitrogen or CO2 added.  It's definitely something every beer fan should try.

Regular tickets for the Craft Beer Expo are $35, include a free tasting glass, and can be purchased through Ticketmaster or a number of Bay area establishments listed here.

If you're in Tampa and wearisome about the trek all the way out to St. Pete, don't fret!  You can take the Tampa Bay Brew Bus from Cigar City Brewing in Westshore to the Craft Beer Expo.  The bus leaves at 5:30 p.m. and the cost is $50 for a round trip, expo admission, and unlimited craft beer to, from, and at the event.  Not too shabby.

The Craft Beer Expo will also feature music from the State Road 64 Bluegrass Band, BBQ, cheese and beer pairings, and more.  If this sounds like your type of event, head out to St. Petersburg on July 23rd and see what craft brewing is all about!
