The Annual River O'Green Scavenger Hunt celebrating St. Patrick's Day and hosted by Downtown Crawlers returns for a bigger than ever year for the 3rd time in Downtown Tampa. The Hunt will be on March 16th and will begin at 4 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m. Registration will begin at 12 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
Once it's 4 p.m, each team captain will receive their map and riddles to begin the hunt. Your team can start the scavenger hunt at any time before 8 p.m., but be sure to still give yourselves to have plenty of time to enjoy this event. A general map of Downtown, Tampa will be given to the team captain to help guide you as you discover where to go by solving your list of riddles. With each riddle solved, up to 5 raffle tickets can be collected to get your team closer to winning the grand prize!
Organizer Thomas Neuert of Downtown Crawlers says that the event is not supposed to be a race and it is encouraged to take your time with each task and enjoy all the bars, restaurants, venues and parks that your team visits. "We want every team to be able to take their time and truly experience what each unique bar, restaurant or business has to offer throughout the scavenger hunt," says Neuert.
Over 1,000 people are expected to be attending and competing for the grand prize. A beautiful Grand Cayman vacation with a 3-night stay for the entire Scavenger Hunt Team (up to 5 people), is the grand prize. The winners will be staying three nights in the lavish 5 Diamond rated Kimpton Seafire Resort. Breakfast will also be included at the Kimpton Seafire and Spa. This captivating resort is located on the world-famous Seven Mile Beach, where you will have the perfect ocean view. The open-air design of the resort keeps you surrounded by all the beautiful landscapes the Cayman Islands has to offer. The resort has multiple restaurants, a spa, and an array of activities to satisfy anyone's needs. This vacation is worth $7,000 and has a value of $1,400 per person. The flight to the Cayman Islands, courtesy of Cayman Airways, will be direct to and from Tampa. Cayman Airways is the flag carrier airline of the British Overseas Territory of the Cayman Islands and is famous for serving their delicious Rum Punch when on board as their welcome drink.
Advance general tickets are selling for $20 a person and increases to $25 for last-minute ticket sales before the event. Each team can have only up to five members.
There will be 20 tasks in total to complete during this scavenger hunt. A new division, the corporate division, has also been created where businesses can now sponsor up to five people to represent them and participate in the Scavenger Hunt. A sponsorship package is also available to sponsor each of these 20 tasks for $500 per task! This will create a great opportunity to promote your business during the event. Each sponsor will have their own table and come up with a creative and engaging task to challenge all the participating teams.
The Scavenger Hunt will end in Curtis Hixon Park, so get ready to solve some riddles and explore all the great bars, restaurants and parks Downtown Tampa has to offer for your St. Patrick's Day celebration! Downtown Crawlers is also hosting a Shenanigans Bar Crawl with Brunch and Party Bus on March 16 and a St Patrick's Day Bar Crawl with Brunch and Party Bus on Sunday, March 17.
