Not going to Austin’s famous SXSW? Don’t worry, Tampa has created its own Interactive Festival, the Gasparilla Interactive Festival.  Held in conjunction with the Gasparilla Music Festival 2015 and the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts 2015, the inaugural Gasparilla Interactive Festival (GIF) is Tampa Bay’s showcase for cutting-edge technology, digital innovation, and entrepreneurial inspiration.

The day long festival features an exciting lineup of national speakers, forums, an expo, and networking events with industry leaders in emerging technology, interactive media, and entrepreneurialism.

Confirmed speakers include Faris Yakob named one of 10 modern day Madmen by Fast Company and founder of Genius Steals; Joanna Lord, VP of Marketing at Porch,the place homeowners come to find the right professionals, get inspired, and manage their homes. Peter Shankman, founder of Help A Reporter Out (HARO) and Principal at Shankman | Honig; Savannah Peterson, Global Community Manager at Shapeways, the world’s largest community of 3D Printing Entrepreneurs; and Al Pittampalli author of Read This Before Our Next Meeting.

The event kicks off with a networking extravaganza held in conjunction with Collaborative Technologies of Tampa Bay at District 3, Arts & Events.  The festival’s closing party will take place at Hablo Taco at Channelside Bay Plaza with music provided by the Gasparilla Music Festival.

The Gasparilla Interactive Festival takes place on Fri., March 6th from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at Cruise Terminal 3, 815 Channelside Dr., Port Tampa Bay.  Ticket prices are $150 through Feb. 28, then $175 (Founder and Exhibitor packages are also available). For more information click here.
