Imagine the magic of some of the best circus artists in the world performing on the same stage with a full symphony orchestra. This is the experience of Cirque de la Symphonie coming to the Tampa Bay area November 4th through 6th.

The combination of these two art forms makes for an energized performance greater than the sum of its parts. Audiences everywhere can be thrilled as aerialists fly overhead and acrobatic feats are performed to classical masterpieces and memorable contemporary music. The performances are paired with the the Florida Orchestra's interpretations of classical masterpieces and popular contemporary music.

The Florida Orchestra will perform a far-reaching selection of symphonic favorites, including sweeping ballet themes from Tchaikovsky like Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty to spirited overtures and dances by Dvorak, Khachaturian, Rimsky-Korsakov and others.

Featured performers at Cirque De La Symphonie will include aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers and strongmen. These are some of the most accomplished veterans of Cirque du Soleil and artists from other exceptional, international cirque programs. Some of these performance artists are world record holders, gold medal winners of international competitions, and, arguably, the most original talent seen anywhere.

Guest conductor Stuart Chafetz will lead the Florida Orchestra for Cirque De La Symphonie. Stuart is the resident conductor of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, who has also served as the music director and conductor of the Maui Pops Orchestra in Hawaii from 1999 to 2009, as well as the former associate conductor of the Louisville Orchestra and the past assistant conductor of the Honolulu Symphony.
