There's definitely no shortage of great New Year's Eve events in Tampa to choose from.  From elegant parties like The Rooftop Eve to open bar dance parties at places like AjA and The Dallas Bull, you've got your share of traditional NYE celebrations.

Most people probably wouldn't put stand up comedy and New Year's Eve together, but come this New Year's Eve at the Tampa Improv, they might want to change their minds.

Head out to the Tampa Improv in Ybor City and enjoy a raucous performance from Tampa's very own Bert Kreischer.  If the name isn't familiar, Kreischer was the inspiration for the Ryan Reynolds movie, Van Wilder after Rolling Stone named him “America’s Number One Party Animal” when he attended Florida State in the mid 90's.

Kreischer is now a full time stand up comedian and the star of his own show, Bert the Conqueror on the Travel Channel. His hour long standup special Bert Kreischer: Comfortably Dumb continues to be one of the top stand up performances on Comedy Central.

Doors open for the New Year's Eve Celebration at 9:30 with first come first serve seating.  The show starts at 10.  Tickets are $45 per person and include your choice of assorted cheeses and crackers plate or mixed berries and whipped cream as well as a free champagne toast, party favors, and more.

Tickets can be purchased by calling The Improv at (813) 864-4000 or visiting The Tampa Improv website.

Kreischer also has other Improv performances throughout the weekend; Thursday at 8 p.m., Friday at 8 and 10:30 p.m., and Saturday at 7:30 and 10 p.m.  for the New Year's Eve Celebration.
