Downtown’s Nova 535 event space is home to dozens of themed events during the year, but the annual Halloween party is highly anticipated and uniquely stylish. This year mark your calendar Sept. 28th @ 7 p.m. for Project Dark Arts: Reborn – a theatrical spectacle that will mesmerize and thrill you and your friends in its 2nd year.

Enjoy live performances and amazing mixed media art from the Bay’s best dark artists, music, fashion and more. There will be body painters, catered food, a full liquor bar and decadent décor both macabre and twisted. If you like fantasy, strange arts and prefer night magic to day, this exclusive event is for you.

The official event DJ is Sherri Maus who can also be heard at the Castle in Ybor City regularly.  In addition, M’ria Swire a Plant City visual artist, will be on location as navigates from large murals to body painting, utilizing the female form as a vehicle to harness the visual language of expression, emotion and energy as a catalyst for experiencing emotion and visualizing movement.

This year's event will allow attendees to be immersed in subject matter from beautiful to bizarre, sensual and seductive to the insanely distraught and macabre. These artists manage the ups and downs in life by creating art that comes from the moment where they're in their darkest places...and now are finally able to share it in this uncensored art and performance showcase.

ENTERTAINMENT

Here’s a look at some of the talent swirling in the darkness.

Mark Rodriguez is a Tampa visual artist whose work is a twisted ride through reality and the subconscious where the lines become so blurred they cease to exist. His predominantly self-portrait work is a blend of elements from pop culture, humor, horror, and all points in between that often collide–yet blend–in conceptual bliss. His images are steeped in story and hidden meanings and they frequently juxtapose the familiar with the unexpected

Elejandro DeMayhem is known for creating breathtaking images that artistically capture the deep-seated emotions and the true beauty of the subject one pixel at a time from Hyper-Colored Raw Edge to Kink and Neo Dark Art.  He combines his deep understanding of human nature and unique artistic vision to capture images that touch the deepest, darkest parts of your soul.

Dee Dee Zeta: Over the last decade Zeta has exhibited her creations across North America and Europe as an outlandish and unconventional performance artist. For the past 8 years, she has been observed as a resident theatrical dancer at the infamous Castle in Ybor City, a world-renowned and legendary industrial night club where only the most eccentric and unusual entities are featured. Zeta is the love of the exotic, the strange, the bizarre and the bewitching. From Alpha to Zeta we are under her influence.

Shadoe Leibelt: Painter, digital artist, photographer, and videographer.  “It is a dive into the abyss. It is an unfiltered window into his mind/ state of mind. It is controlled insanity”.”

Jayde  Morgan: Born and raised in Florida.  Jayde is a seamstress who started her own business at 28 where she handmade 85% of the items she sold! Body painting is new to her, but she knows that she is good at it! She loves to oil paint. She finds painting to be a huge stress relief, which allows her to express her creative side. “The human body is the most beautiful art canvas.”

Rougue Morgan: This semi-mischievous free-spirited photo dude who loves shaking up things in Tampa’s fashion, events and art scene. From creating high-end fashion shows and playful blacklight body paint parties to the coordinator of themed group photoshoots, Rougue is an event architect who’s enjoyed every minute working with those who equal his love for others and a love of the arts.

Carmen Rosa:  Her work consists of a collection of dark, illustrative paintings and sketches.  As a night shift Respiratory Therapist, she has dealt with the dead and dying for many years listening to music and drawing for her is a way of de-stressing between the episodes of chaos that she sometimes faces in her line of work.

Zia Sandia: Also known as the Morrigan of Burlesque (pronounced More-i-gone), has grown to become a firey and fierce dancer who has taken the south by storm! Hailing originally from New Mexico, this dark vixen performs various forms of dance and has recently been awarded the Master of Tassels 2019!

Teddy Mayday: She performs burlesque, go go dances, models, and is an amateur body painter in the Tampa area. Miss Mayday charms and delights with her playful, sensual style stealing hearts and making it look like art.

Jeff & Sara Pagliocca: Jeff and Sara are a standing acrobatic duo with a true passion to satisfy and astonish any audience. With their combination of strength and elegance, they produce a spectacular showcase ready to please any crowd.

Emahr Moon is an alternative fashion front created by artist/designer Mellisa Ristine in 2017. Each look is an expression of dark fantasy and whimsical nature. Rebellious rock and roll vibes mixed with unique textiles fuel a heavy motif of deconstructed and edgy pieces. Inspiration from ancient mythologies and pagan past lives brings one of a kind pieces.
