Folks, it's that time again. The 7th annual Tampa Pig Jig fundraiser is back; find this delicious event on Tampa’s beautiful waterfront at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Saturday, October 28 from 1 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Come out for a day of music, games, and most importantly BBQ while benefiting kidney disease. This event benefits NephCure Kidney International, the only non-profit organization dedicated to supporting research, improving treatment and finding a cure for the debilitating kidney disease, FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) and Nephrotic Sydney.

Asking yourself, what the heck, is a pig jig?

The story goes, a group of Tampa born friends joined forces four years ago to coordinate the first annual Pig Jig to raise funds for their friend, Will, who was diagnosed with FSGS in 2009.

What began as a backyard BBQ grew into a waterfront blowout with great bands, delicious food, fun games, and more than 6,000 attendees. Over the past six years, the Tampa Pig Jig raised over $2,000,000 with all proceeds benefiting NephCure. This year’s goal is to reach $1,000,000 in one jig!!!  Will you be there in support?

Live music will be performed by country singer Justin Moore, rock band Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, electro-rock band Stop Light Observations and former frontrunner of Hot Chelle Rae turned country singer Ryan Follese. This event is open to the public and is a family-friendly event in Tampa and pet-friendly too, so feel free to bring the kids and furry members of the family.

Tickets are available online. Children under 12 are free. General admission tickets, which grant access to the Main Lawn and Kylie Gardens, are $40 in advance and $50 the day of the event. VIP tickets are $175, which includes entry into the event plus entrance into the restricted Baldwin Krystyn Sherman VIP tent where complimentary food, beer & wine and access into the BBQ Pit Competition area will be available.

Come out for fun, good eats, and to support a great cause! The 7th annual Tampa Pig Jig fundraiser on the river will “relax the mind while barbecue excites the senses and entertainment comes from the likes of Edwin McCain,” said our friend Ernest Hooper at the Tampa Bay Times. Couldn't say it better myself Ernest! We look forward to seeing you there.
