On Sunday, August 26, the day before the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, libertarian representative and former presidential hopeful Ron Paul will hold a free rally at the USF Sun Dome for his Tampa Bay supporters.

The rally will kick off at 11 a.m. on Sunday and organizers are expecting a crowd at the newly-renovated Sun Dome which now seats about 10,400 people.  Ron Paul will headline the event following a full day's worth of live music, appearances from a number of Republican delegates, talks on the upcoming presidential race, and more.

According to a video recently posted on RonPaul2012.com, the purpose of the rally is to celebrate and encourage the delegates that subscribe to Ron Paul's libertarian values at the RNC.  Although Paul is not actively campaigning for the presidential nomination anymore, but his numerous supporters have worked tirelessly to fight for delegate seats in Tampa and beyond.

Organizers hope the rally will foster a positive, respectful, and constructive dialogue amongst those hosting and attending the rally at the USF Sun Dome.

As the 2012 Republican National Convention begins on the Monday following the rally, many are speculating if Ron Paul will play a role, as a speaker or guest, during its four-day run in Tampa.  An appearance is likely according to Paul's campaign chairman Jesse Benton, but there's still no word on whether Paul will have a speaking spot at the RNC.

As always, we'll keep you posted as more news arises regarding Ron Paul and the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa.
