We're no strangers to writing about great running events all throughout Tampa Bay here at 813area.com, but this one, well this one's just a tad different.

The Santa Speedo Run is a special fitness event where hundreds of Tampa runners don their holiday speedos and Santa garb to gather for a one mile run through Historic Ybor City.  It's going down on Sunday, December 9 this year at Ybor's Centennial Park. If you're the fun, adventurous, or fitness-minded type, this will be one run you won't forget.

It all kicks off when registration opens at 1 p.m. with the race starting at 2 p.m.  Interested runners can register in advance at asapservices.org/santaspeedorun for $30 which includes a Santa Speedo Run shirt, Santa hat, and a finisher's medal.

Proceeds from the Santa Speedo Run will benefit AIDS Service Association of Pinellas, Inc. and the Brighter Seasons for Children program.

Bring your best speedo (not required, of course), holiday flare, a fun-loving spirit, and anything else you need for the one of a kind Santa Speedo Run Tampa Bay taking place at Ybor City's Centennial Park on Sunday, December 9.
