Southeast Food Festival in Tampa: A Culinary Weekend to Delight the Senses!

If there’s one thing everyone knows, it’s that people in the South love their food! Southeast Food Fest: Tampa will celebrate all things edible during this festival. Come out to the Florida State Fairgrounds and join thousands of fellow food lovers for an unforgettably tasty festival! There will be a wide array of gourmet food vendors, chefs, and culinary artisans will be present to showcase their culinary skills and expertise. The culinary marketplace will feature fascinating chef demos, workshops and delicious samples of everything from smoothies to soup! The weekend will be jam-packed with delicious culinary delights to taste, fare from top regional food trucks.

There will even be some of the region’s top food and wellness experts discussing some of the most interesting and relevant topics for today's culinary aficionado. 


Culinary and Health Experts Line Up 

• Bryon White, the co-founder of Florida’s favorite tea company, Yaupon Brothers American Tea, will be discussing the significance of tea in Florida’s culinary past, present and future. The event will also host an interactive tea-making experience, including teaching you how to incorporate tea into some clever cocktail recipes! Join Bryon White for the Yaupon Tea Revival Saturday, May 11th at 11 am.

• Bread-master extraordinaire Chef Reginald of Fearless Bread will host a can’t miss demonstration where he will give you an inside look on his secrets and tips to make the perfect flaky, light, buttery puff pastry from scratch. The decadent, elusive perfect puff pastry will finally be achievable! Bring your notebooks to watch Chef Reginald go step-by-step to craft an elegant Tart Au Soleil (Sun Tart). Watch Chef Reginald master the art of puff pastry on Saturday, May 11th at 1 pm. 

• Rob Epple, co-owner of Florida MicroGreens (FLMG), will be discussing the impact of urban, vertical farming and how incorporating urban harvests into local restaurants can change the future of sourcing fresh, locally grown food around the world. Learn about urban farming and enjoy a planting demo at 3 pm on Saturday, May 11th.

• Who isn’t “on the go” these days? Join Liat Golan, RD, LD/N, of Bee Well Nutrition for a master course on healthy eating in a fast-paced world. She will provide expert insight on topics like learning about the power of meal prep, navigating the aisles at your favorite grocery store and how the power of food can keep the body in the best possible health. Join Liat on Sunday, May 12th at 2 pm and learn about the power of food while enjoying delicious vegan smoothies and homemade protein bars. 

The Southeast Food Fest in Tampa will be held in the Special Event Center at the Florida State Fairgrounds located at 4800 US Hwy 301 North in Tampa. Hours of the event are Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 12th: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Admission is $7.50. Children 12 and under enter for free. Your tickets cover admission for the entire event, including chef demonstrations and workshops.
