MacDinton is a name as old as Ireland itself. Through the centuries, this clan has perfected the art of barkeeping and football (soccer for the rest of us) hooliganism. Every city has its assortment not-so-Irish Pubs, including Tampa. But, MacDinton's Irish Pub puts them all to shame, embracing the culture and stereotypes that make Irish Pubs so attractive to the average pub-goer. When you think of a traditional Pub of Ireland, what comes to mind? Undoubtedly it’s the strong wooden bar and furniture, finished in a glossy varnish with a tall glass of foamy dark Guinness sweating atop the counter in front of the broad-shouldered, big-boned barkeep brushing the brim of his bowler hat with his fingertips. You think of the football tapestries plastering every wall with the zeitgeist of this both ancient and lively establishment: if you’re a customer, you’re a Manchester United supporter.
An Irish Pub, however, would be nothing without Irish-themed events every once in a while. There’s nothing more Irish than preparing for a day of non-stop drinking (St. Patty’s Day) than by having a binger just a couple days beforehand. Luckily for us, MacDinton’s takes every opportunity to set up community events and activities like this, perhaps to our liver’s detriment but practice makes perfect, right?!
'twas the Saturday before St. Patricks Day...MacDinton's Green Eggs and Kegs Boozy Brunch will run from 12-3 p.m. on Saint Practice Day, Saturday, March 14th. Enjoy a FREE Irish brunch while supplies last and prepare -- mentally and physically -- for a saint practice day that will go down in Tampa history.
$1 Bud Light bottles and the live band starts at 8:30 p.m. LIVE MUSIC ALL DAY
Everything about MacDinton’s is Ireland and everything Ireland is MacDinton’s. It should be no surprise, then, that St. Patrick’s Day brings a day of celebration and activity at MacDinton’s. Starting promptly at 2 pm. Irish dancers and bagpipers will begin the festivities with their unique flavor of Ireland, followed by Red Velvet and a more traditional angle of Irish song around 5 p.m. To finish off the day, the bagpipers make a return for a last hurrah, likely with a bit more blush to their faces at 9 p.m.
Skip the long line to get into MacDinton's SoHo on Saturday, March 14th AND Tuesday, March 17th with the purchase of a Get Lucky Tank Top or T-shirt! Tees and Tanks are available for purchase at MacDinton's SoHo on Thursday, March 12th.
